The pelvic floor muscles are integral to happy pelvic health. They have a large job to do, from bladder and bowel control, to sexual function, pelvic organ (prolapse) support and postural support. Throughout our years as women, these all important muscles in your pelvis need a little TLC and attention. Pregnancy, childbirth and menopause are all times that impact our pelvises. Exercise, hormones and age add to this too. 1 in 3 women report poor bladder control, 1 in 10 sexual pain and nearly half of all mothers have a degree of pelvic organ prolapse. Pelvic floor awareness and control can help many of these issues.
